We are pleased to share the 2023 Highways and Byways Annual Report with you.
The 2022-2023 year was a busy and productive one for Highways and Byways. We continued to consolidate the changes made in recent years to set Highways and Byways up as the independent mission entity of the Missionary Sisters of Service (MSS). As such, we continued to develop our Small Grants Program and longer-term programs in a way that is true to the spirit and mission of the MSS; walking alongside small, remotely isolated communities, nurturing new leaders and supporting those wanting to make positive changes in the lives of those less fortunate.
This year, we bid farewell to longtime Board member Brian Lennon and warmly welcomed Helen Casey to our team. Our collaboration with Mary MacKillop Today (MMT) has also progressed, with Executive Officer Jane Collopy and MMT’s CEO Jane Woolford engaging in grassroots discussions on practical program synergies.
