SEEKING NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Jul 22, 2019 | News

Highways and Byways – A Community of Service is seeking new Board members from across Australia. Highways and Byways was established by the Missionary Sisters of Service in 2018 to carry on their vision and spirit, following on from the John Wallis Foundation, established in 2010. For many years the Missionary Sisters of Service worked in remote parts of Australia.

Desirable skills and qualities: We are especially interested in new board members with fundraising and legal backgrounds. Understanding the particular nature of the challenges facing rural and regional Australians is also important. A willingness to understand and nurture the identity, vision and mission of the Missionary Sisters of Service as expressed through Highways and Byways is essential.

Our office is based in Vermont, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, where the Board meets eight times per year. We are keen to get more rural representation on our Board. Rural or Regional Board members would ideally be able to join meetings remotely (our preferred technology is Zoom). It is anticipated that any Board members based in rural Australia would attend a minimum of one Board Meeting in person at the expense of Highways and Byways.
