Each year, as winter turns to spring, the John Wallis Foundation, in partnership with the Catholic Community of Yea and Assumption College Kilmore, holds a community and fundraising event in the beautiful Goulburn Valley.
The 2017 event is scheduled for Saturday 14 October. We would love you to join us for our annual trek along part of the beautiful Great Victorian Rail Trail on Saturday 14th October 2017 – click here 2017 JWF Yarck to Yea flyer to download the flyer with all booking details.
Participants ride, run or walk on the Great Victorian Rail Trail between Yarck and Yea. Cyclists do the entire trail, other participants choose their starting point according to the distance they wish to run or walk. Below is a report of the 2016 event.
2016 Yarck to Yea Ride-Run-Walk
On the 27th August 2016, a number of people ranging in age from 4 to 84, gathered for the fifth annual John Wallis Foundation Yarck to Yea community and fundraising event. Many partook of the now traditional breakfast at the Giddy Goat Cafe at Yarck, which contributed some of the profits to the Foundation. This year walkers far outnumbered the cyclists, and all enjoyed the beautiful green rolling hills along that section of the Great Victorian Rail Trail. On arrival participants were treated to a delicious lunch, provided by Yea’s St Pat’s Race Club.
